6 of the best ways to eat your cookies
We’re big believers in the 3pm snack. Really. We’ve written a whole blog post on how mid-afternoon slumps can get you down, and – spoiler alert! – why healthy snacks are the perfect recipe to a clear mindset and longer-lasting energy.
That’s why we created our cookies in the first place: to be the holy grail of afternoon snacks. It’s kind of our whole thing. Our cookies fit the chocolatey bill, but unlike the usual suspects they’re 100% natural and contain as little as 4g of sugar. Can you say ‘seconds, please?’
We love eating our cookies on their own, but we can’t deny that there are some amazingly creative ways to enjoy a healthy kick with Wholey Moly cookies. So we thought we’d list the tastiest options, in our humble opinion. But hey, got a better one? We’re all ears!
What food goes well with cookies?
1. Vegan chocolate cookie sandwiched over ice cream
It might be the dead of winter, but what better way to pretend we’re not in the middle of a pandemic than by setting your sights on sunnier days? Over the summer we fell head over heels for Wholey Moly ice cream sandwiches. Our cookies are naturally plant based and gluten free, so keep the theme going with a vegan ice cream. Sweet salted caramel is a dream with our crunchy Almond Butter & Hemp cookies. And because they’re packed with 7g of plant protein, this 3pm snack will help you power through the rest of the day.
2. Healthy cookie crumbled over yoghurt or porridge
Yoghurt and porridge are awesome afternoon-boosters on their own, but make them even better with a high fibre and low sugar cookie topping. You truly can’t beat the Ferrero Rocher flavours of our Cacao & Hazelnut cookies, and the vitamins and antioxidants inside will keep you fighting fit. Take it further by adding a sprinkling of chopped almonds, a handful of berries and a dollop of almond butter. Delish.

3. Cookies make the perfect tart base
Ever used crushed up biscuits for a quick-fix tart base? Our cookies make a healthier swap, and they’re just as speedy to mash up. On our blog, we recently featured a mouth-watering vegan Chocolate Chickpea Tart recipe, topped with rich cacao and sweet maple syrup – check it out here. Whip it up over the weekend and enjoy a slice with a piping hot tea for a next-level afternoon snack throughout the week.
4. Cheeky Banoffee Pie made with low-sugar cookies
Who doesn’t love the caramel sweetness of a Banoffee Pie? If your mouth isn’t watering already, wait until you taste this genius play on the traditional pudding, made with our rich and nutty Cacao & Hazelnut cookies. Bonus points: it takes no time at all to make, so you can easily throw this together on your tea break. Find the recipe here

5. Healthy cookies dunked in your afternoon tea (or coffee)
We’ll start with the classic, because honestly it’s hard to beat. The sweetness of the cookies mixed with a rich blend of black tea with just a dash of creamy oat milk? Heaven. Nutty, slightly bitter coffee is another utterly delicious pairing for our moreish treats. Just the pick-me-up you need to finish your day on a high.
6. Plant-based cookies with a glass of (vegan) milk
We’re heading back to the classics again. You can’t beat cookies and milk, can you? Well, it turns out you can: vegan cookies and plant-based milk is a match made in heaven. We think the citrus blast of our Cacao & Orange cookies tastes fantastic with a cool glass of your favourite vegan milk – be it soya, oat, or almond.
